I. Introduction

This department is established in May 20 2001 with the approval from the Ministry of Education. The department is located in Hsin-chu Campus with 9 acres is facilitated with the largest and the most advanced training facilities in this country by far. Closely working with Lufthansa Technical Training, our department has international standard and has 2 year junior college, 2 year senior college, 4 year university degree (day time and evening session), to fulfil the need from aviation industry.

II. The goal and the features of the department

The training goal is to cultivate the student to perform professional skill in aircraft structural repair, aircraft powerplant, aircraft system, repair component, overhaul, and inspection, operation and control. The training features of the department are detailed in the following.

  1. Fully equipped facility:With the largest practical training ground, our department has Boeing 727 and other 9 airplanes, 32 Various types of aircraft powerplants, 32 system training modules,? and other training equipment for inspection, design, assemblies.
  2. Well-trained trainer:There are 6 professors hold with PhD degree from different aviation fields, In addition to 6 professors, 3 more instructors and 6 more assistants are assigned to teach courses and most of them hold with CAA or FAA Aviation certificates.
  3. Internal co-operation:The internal co-operation with LTT and otherships to improve in training, trainers, and courses.
  4. Certificated:The only certificated JAA/CAA training institute are qualified in getting mechanic certificate from JAA and CAA, therefore, students are highly internationally competitive.
  5. English intensive training:Application English and aviation technical English are stressed in order to promote the familiarization in English.
  6. Practical training:Besides the practical practice at school, students are also arranged for field trips to visit aviation industry in order to gain more practical experience.
